Our February meeting is on Wednesday, February 19 at the Nanaimo Curling Club at 1:30 and 6:30 pm (doors open at 1:00 and 6:00 pm) Guild member Donna Hollett will present a slide show on ethnic textile and fibre methods, including spinning, weaving, dyeing and eco-dyeing. Debbie has visited several Northern Thailand and Northern Laos ethnic mountain villages.
If your last name starts with the letters I, J, K and L, it’s your turn to bring goodies to the meeting for our coffee / tea break. Consider bringing a treat that was popular in the 1980s, as we continue to celebrate our 40th anniversary!
There is a new Block of the Month in the newsletter. Due to having no November or regular December meetings, we will be catching up with our Block of the Month as we go. The library will be open, so please remember to return your library books. Bring your completed Block of the Month, donation quilts, placemats, Show and Share creations, your coffee cup, change for raffles, and any Country Grocer receipts (if you collect them). See below
As a nonprofit society, we can earn 1% on every $1000 in tapes that we save, in the form of gift cards that do not expire (This will help us buy supplies for our next Quilt Show).
The tapes can be from any Country Grocer location, for anything in the store, and for any amount. Please fold (don’t roll) the tapes and place in an envelope to prevent fading. There will be a box available at our meetings to drop off your tapes.
